The topic for her ninth-grade class was palindromes,
words or sentences that are the same read forward and backward.

She asked the question "What is the first thing Adam said to Eve?"

She was expecting the answer "Madam, Iím Adam,"
but one student had a better reply:

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.

LIGHT from the WORD.

The "promise" in our text above refers to verses 3-4 of 2Peter:
"3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers,
walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?
for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were
from the beginning of the creation."

So, the promise is that Jesus is returning.

God is not "slack" (or procrastinating) about that promise.
He is patiently waiting BECAUSE:
His desire is that none should perish; AND
that all should repent to be saved.

Jesus is God Who came in flesh, and lived a perfect life.
He offered that perfect life to God on the cross of Calvary.
He was resurrected from the dead to exhibit justification of
His actions.
And, the offer of salvation is OFFERED to ALL mankind
THROUGH repentance and surrender to Jesus as LORD.
(See Lk. 9:23 and Matt. 16:24 and Mark 8:34 and 1John 1:23)

The GOOD NEWS is anybody CAN BE saved!
The BAD NEWS is everybody WILL NOT repent and surrender
to Jesus as LORD!

Again, the "promise" is: Jesus is returning!
Are YOU ready?

Love ya!
