THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

A lady working in a large manufacturing company took her coffee break. She got some coffee and a little package of cookies. There weren't any empty tables in the break room, so she sat down at one occupied by only one man. He was reading a nespaper.

She put her coffee on the table, opened her purse and got a magazine to read. As she sipped her coffee, she reached for a cookie, and noticed that the man was reaching for a cookie too. In a few moments, she unconsciously reached for another cookie, and noticed that the man was reaching for another. Later, as she reached for the last cookie, the man smiled, folded his newspaper and left. Now she was angry. He'd eaten half of her cookies and never even said thank you.

Well, the coffee break was ruined, so she decided to go back to work. So she folded her magazine and started to put it in her purse. WUPS!!! There were her cookies!

She'd actually been eating HIS cookies, and he never even said a word.
That's GRACE!

Rom 5:18-21
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Grace, God's grace, is amazing, abounding, infinite, overwashing, and cleansing! And the most wonderful part is that God's grace is OFFERED to EVERYONE!

Sin came to the world by one man - Adam. By Adam's disobedience, all were condemned with the fault of disobedience. And that disobedience brought the decree of God for death of the disobedient. Then God sent the law to expose sin, and to make it hideous. But then, God sent GRACE to overcome sin and death!

Adam brought sin, Jesus brought righteousness.
Adam brought disobedience, Jesus brought perfect obedience.
Adam brought sacrifices, Jesus IS the only acceptable sacrifice for sin.

It is through Jesus Christ that we learn of God's grace. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Rom 5:8)

It is through Jesus Christ that we are called into God's grace. "By whom (Jesus) also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (Rom 5:2)

It is by grace through Jesus Christ that we are offered His righteousness for our unrighteousness. "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." (Rom 5:19)

It is by grace through Jesus Christ that grace reigns eternal over the death that was brought by our sin. "That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom 5:20)

God's grace is HERE! It is here by the entrance of our Lord, Jesus to die for our sins. It is here eternally because He lives eternally. God's grace: abounding, amazing, infinite, overwashing, and cleansing is here for ALL mankind!

The beginning point of God's grace given is at the throne of God where He always planned to come in the Person of Jesus to die for our sins.
The beginning point of God's grace received is at the foot of the cross where we earnestly plead for forgiveness and salvation.

Let us come to that cross daily pleading that Christ will give us "grace for grace" and that grace will give us strength for each day.

Love ya,
Bruce
