THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
"My second favorite household chore is ironing.
My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint."
- Erma Bombeck
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
All true "saints" are groaning.
Some are groaning and moaning, griping and complaining.
But ALL are groaning spiritually waiting for God to make the adoption complete.
Life in this earth is TUFF!
There is sickness, disease, poverty, corruption, anger, malice, prejudice, and evil of all kinds in the earth because there is SIN!
In heaven there'll be no evil, because there'll be no sin!
Our spirits yearn to be with the Lord, and yet our bodies are suffering in the earth.
However, notice we groan "within ourselves."
Though our hope, praise, and joy are shouted from the housetops,
our groaning's are to be kept between us and our Lord.
We have justification and are living in sanctification.
Yet we yearn for glorification.
And we are to yearn for it patiently, not mumbling and complaining because of our present state.
We KNOW that our God will never give us more than we can bear, and that He will be faithful to complete what He has begun in us.
Remember, precious saint of God, you can tell a person by his "groaning’s."
Some groan after wealth - they are worshippers of "mammon."
Some groan because of distress - they are worshippers of self.
Some groan because of troubles - they are impatient.
But the "saint" groans to be more like Christ.
Therefore, the saint is moldable by God's Spirit and Word.
Let our "groaning’s" be the desire to be more like Christ!
