THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Some people just need to “grow up!”
Grandmother, on Mother’s side, came to visit.
Four-year-old Timmy met her at the door with a big hug.
He said, “I’m so glad you’re here. Maybe Dad will do that trick now.”
Grandmother said, “What trick is that?”
Dad’s face fell as Timmy said, “He said he’d ‘climb the walls’ if you came.”
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Christians, we have a LOT of growing to do!
We are to “grow up into HIM in all things.”
And, HE is Christ, in Whom is “the fullness of the Godhead bodily”! (Col. 2:9)
By going to the cross, Jesus surrendered all that He is to become the temple of our salvation!
He placed within that temple:
The fullness of His Holy Spirit;
The power of His Word;
The unsearchable riches of the eternal God;
The limitless depths of His eternal love.
His wisdom became our direction.
His knowledge became our instruction.
His justification became our surety.
His power became our protection.
His love became our comfort.
OH! Let us not live in menial or impulsive action!
Let us “grow up into HIM!”
