Today's Devotion:
"God's WORD Is COUNSEL!"
HI!
Most of us are familiar with a Herd of cows,
a Flock of chickens, a School of fish,
and a Gaggle of geese.
Other terms with which we may be less familar
are:
a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well
as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an
Exaltation of doves and, presumably because
they look so wise, a Parliament of owls.
Consider: a group of Baboons.
They are the loudest, most dangerous, most
obnoxious, most viciously aggressive of all
primates.
And what is the proper collective noun for a
group of baboons?
A CONGRESS!
I guess that about explains it!

The FIRST step toward obtaining wisdom is
RECOGNITION.
That's the recognition of our own ignorance.
Usually, when we work to have it my way,
we end up in the byway.
The Bible says, "Every way of a man is
right in his own eyes: but the LORD
pondereth the HEARTS!" (Prov. 21:2)
Did you know that one word used to describe
the Bible is God's COUNSEL?
Now, a lot of people with high degrees may
give counsel.
But there is only ONE counsel that is right
and true!
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the
counsel of the ungodly, not standeth in the
way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
and in His law doth he meditate day and
night." (Ps. 1:1-2)
Believe it or not, God WANTS to be our
Counselor.
And, true wisdom begins with His Word.
The Bible is relevant to our world today.
It contains truth without error and guidance
for man's soul.

The Bible contains God-breathed
principles by which we should live.
AND, it contains the ONLY road-map to
the ONE and ONLY Savior - Jesus Christ!
Study the Bible as did the Psalmist say, and
the LORD will guide you through WISE
COUNSEL!
AND, afterward, He shall "receive" you into
HIS "glory!"
