THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A salesman in large firm was assigned to secure
a very important client.
However he failed in his mission.
He sent a telegram to his secretary, so she would be
able to break the news indirectly to the boss.
The telegram read
"Failed to secure client, prepare boss."
He received a telegram back in only a few moments.
It read, "Boss prepared, prepare yourself."
So foolish was I, and ignorant:
I was as a beast before thee.
LIGHT from the WORD.
The Bible says David was a "man after God's own heart."
(See 1Sam 13:14)
But here, David is admitting sin.
In verse 3 of this same Psalm, David says,
"For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the
prosperity of the wicked."
David had envied the prosperity of the wicked.
In His suffering, he allowed his heart to see only
the present physical things.
He had forgotten that in the END the "foolish" would suffer!
All too often, we are much like David.
We doubt God when He is perfectly faithful.
We set our soul's eyes upon present circumstances
and forget the END result of serving our Lord.
Looking only at present circumstances we will think that
"all these things are AGAINST me."
(See Gen 43:36)
That's what Jacob said when he had lost Joseph and the
other brothers wanted to take Benjamin to Egypt with them.
We must align ourselves with David and admit that this
kind of thinking is "foolish."
Actually, God promises that "all things work together
for good" for those who believe and trust in Him.
(See Rom 8:28)
Let us not be as David and complain of our circumstances.
But if we find ourselves as such, let us indeed BE as David
and admit our sin!
Remember, the Boss is prepared....let us prepare ourselves!
