Today's Devotion:
"HAMMER OUT VICTORY"
The village blacksmith finally found
an apprentice willing to work hard
for long hours.
The blacksmith instructed the boy,
"When I take the shoe out of the fire,
I'll lay it on the anvil; and when I nod
my head, you hit it with this hammer."
The apprentice did just as he was told.
Now he looking for another job!
_______SCRIPTURE_______
1 Cor 15:57-58
57 But thanks be to God, who gives
us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers,
be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that in the Lord your labor
is not in vain.
KJV
_______THOUGHT_________
In verse 57 above, the Scripture
speaks about "victory."
From where does it come?
"...through Jesus Christ."
Sometimes, life just causes us
to feel overwhelmed.
When a carpenter feels
overwhelmed, he goes to his
work-bench and HAMMERS
out the problem.
In verse 58, the Scripture tells
us HOW to hammer out a
victorious life.
"Be seadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord."
We may not FEEL God at work.
But He is ALWAYS hammering
out victory on our behalf.
He began at the cross, and
ended with an empty tomb.
Let us pray strongly, and stand
firm against our problems.
In other words: KNOW that
God is working, and JOIN Him!
THEN, we can know that we
are LIVING in the victory that
Christ already won for us!
WORK WITH GOD!
REAL victory comes through
what He ALREADY accomplished!
Eternity awaits those who KEEP
working WITH God through the
problems the world throws at us!
Love ya!
