THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A man walked by a table in a hotel and noticed three men and a dog playing cards.
The dog appeared to be winning.
"That must be a very smart dog," the man commented.
"He ain't so smart," said one of the players.
"Every time he gets a good hand he wags his tail!"
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance:
but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
"Countenance is a press conference that your face calls
to give the state of union of your soul." --Dudley Hall
Joy and sorrow are easily exhibited in the expressions on our face.
But joy or sorrow begins in the heart!
Neh 8:10 says in part, "for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Jesus said the "joy of thy Lord" is knowing the reward of doing His will.
"His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant;
thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things:
enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matt 25:23)
The song "Trust and Obey" says,
"When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way;
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey."
Trust in the Lord.
Determine to enjoy every moment He gives you.
His joy will flood your heart and give you strength.
Also the expression will spread to your face!
