THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The president went to visit a nursing home.
He walked up to a lady in a wheel chair and tried to be polite, but found that he wasn't being very successful at carrying on a conversation with her.
Finally, in desperation he said, "Ma'am, do you know who I am?"
She answered, "No sir, I don't know who you are--but if you go up to that desk they can tell you."
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
We have a $14 TRILLION debt, and it is CLIMBING.
The $38.5 billion in cuts is less than 1/2 of 1 per cent!
There are many places in the budget where financial planning is offensive to moral integrity.
For instance, $1.1 billion is set aside for Planned Parenthood.
By that organization's own reports, "97.6% of the group's 'services' for pregnant women in 2009 involved killing their children, and only 2.4% involved prenatal care or adoption referral." (Source: Washington Update, April 11, 2011, Family Research Council)
Besides that, the organization performed fewer than 20,000 other services in its last reporting year--including zero mammograms.
This type of budgetary planning is certainly offensive to God!
What shall we do?
Pray diligently that our leaders will see the "reproof" and "counsel" of God!
And, pray that His "reproof" and "counsel" will be HEEDED!
