THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Dad took his 3-year-old son fishing for the first time.
He helped the little boy get his hook in the line, carefully showing him how to keep from catching it on someone, or on the boat.
Soon the little boy brought in a fish. He was ecstatic!
When the fish was flopping around in the bottom of the boat, the little boy reached to get it.
Then, all of a sudden, he yelled, "HELP DAD! This fish has teeth on its side!"
To the chief Musician upon Shem'-i-nith, A Psalm of David.
Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
A very short, but sensible and powerful prayer!
Do you find that others fail you?
Indeed, God has shown "..every man a liar.." (Rom 3:4)
David had many strong-hearted men who stood by him even to death.
But David knew they could not help the inner conflict of soul.
They could not help him with the fear, trembling, and doubt.
But when the creature fails, we must go to the Creator!
When difficulties arise and we feel our own weakness and others fail us, call out to God in this simple prayer, "HELP LORD!"
Life does have teeth on its side!
In our own personal conflicts, we can go immediately to God in prayer.
When we are working diligently for the Lord, and nothing seems right, He will give "grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)
When we have serious doubts, God will answer the prayer with His closeness, and soon things will become clear.
As the world population increases, percentage of believers decreases!
Truly David saw this, for he said, "...the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail..." Do YOU see it believer?
Are you, like David, intending to CONTINUE in faith, regardless of how others may act?
Then call earnestly, sincerely, "HELP LORD!"
We must remember though, that the call for "help" doesn't apply if we intend to do nothing!
"Help," in itself implies one is asking for ADDED energy.
