The old Indian chief was teaching some children about Christ.
A young boy asked, "What is a Savior?"
The chief said, "Let me demonstrate."

He constructed a small ring of dead grass about 12 inches in diameter.
Then he placed a caterpillar in the middle of the ring, and struck a match to the dead grass.
The entire ring was engulfed in flame.
The caterpillar looked to the East, he looked to the West, He looked to the South and the North - but there was no escape.

Finally, the caterpillar raised his head and looked UP.
Then the old chief put his finger inside the ring and the caterpillar crawled to safety.

Ex 3:7-8
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

God KNOWS our sorrows.
He is "come down" to minister to our need.

He is the MASTER.
The lowly shipmen may only know a portion of the ship.
But the Pilot knows all, and applies every portion to the whole.
The workmen knows only the part of the building.
But the Architect knows all, and applies every part to the whole.
We Christians "know in part" (1Cor 13:12), but our Master knows "ALL!"
He has "come down" to apply every part and portion until He has guided us to the completeness of our souls.
Then He will allow us to know "in full."

Knowing our innermost sorrows, He applies healing.
He draws near to comfort and encourage.
With unfailing skill, our Physician applies joy and sorrow, victory and failure, hope and brokenness.
But always we are comforted by His PRESENCE.
Our deadliest illness is sin.
And He has "come down" to apply healing by giving His own life's blood!

He is the SAVIOR.
Though He judges with eternal power, He has "come down" to deliver with compelling love.
God came in flesh to provide atonement for our sins, propitiation for His own anger, and leadership to eternal wholeness.
We could not know of our own sin except He reveal it.
We could not know how to reach glory if He did not lead us and guide us.

Christ KNOWS our sorrows!
He has "come down" to save us from death and hell!

Love ya!
