THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A man came in the doctors office with an unusual complaint.
He said that he could hear a creaking sound in his back every time he bent over.
The doctor asked him to bend over and show him.
The man did.
Then the doctor said, "I'll be right back. I've got just the thing for you in my office."
In a moment the doctor returned and the patient could hear him spray something on his back.
He bent over, and there was no more creaking.
He asked, "What did you do Doc?"
The doctor said, "I just sprayed a little WD-40 on your suspenders!"
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Worldly goods are wonderful if we have them.
Yet we should not spend the majority of our time being concerned with gaining them.
How can we learn to live "content" with what we have?
Focus upon the fact that "He hath said, 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.'"
What more can this world give me than the wonderful presence of my Lord?
Is there anything in this world that could give such great peace and contentment?
What else has God said that gives me contentment in my life?
He has said He will wash me and make me clean (Isaiah 1:18).
He has said He will put my sins as far away as East is from West (Psalm 103:12).
He has said that He would seal me in His Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13).
He has said that He would be my refuge and strength in any trouble I face (Psalm 46:1).
He has said that He would be with me when I share the gospel with others (Matthew 28:18-20).
He has said that He will grant me to sit with Him in His throne (Revelation 3:21).
And there is so much more!
Bible study is WONDERFUL!
Great blessings are upon us when we study about what God "hath said"!!
Spend your time wisely.
Spend it accumulating in your mind and heart the things that God "hath said."
