THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
In South Louisiana, there was news of a hurricane coming.
The members of a country church met to pray.
The pastor started off, “Lord, please send us the Spirit of the Children of Israel.”
An ole country deacon picked up on that prayer and said,
“Lord, come Yoself, this ain’t no time fo chillun!”
1 A Prayer of Moses the man of God.
LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
In this world, we are continually exposed to change.
We are much like the Israelites who marched through the wilderness for 40 years.
They were constantly facing change in the environment.
Yet, their “dwelling place” was the LORD!
His closeness was their shelter.
His provision was their staple.
His guidance was their compass.
His grace was their sufficiency.
Though we face change in the world every day,
God NEVER changes!
His grace is still sufficient for our needs.
His guidance through the Word is a compass for our decision making.
His provision is MORE than we need.
And, His spiritual presence is indeed a shelter in this ever-changing world.
The strength of the Christian is his/her closeness with the Lord.
Though we may constantly face change in this world,
we are always “at home” with our LORD!
HE is our “dwelling place!”
And, be settled with His nearness!
