THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Once, my partner & I were playing in a golf scramble.
He stepped off the 3rd tee, and one of the boards
leading down to the cart path broke.
He tripped and fell.
Later, I stepped out of the cart to get a ball.
I stepped off the edge of the cart path, and
turned my ankle.
Well, we're both getting older, and we should
expect such things.
We agreed to call it a "downer" experience!
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling ,
and to present you faultless before the presence of his
glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty,
dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Light from the Word.
Praise Jesus, Who is ABLE to keep us from FALLING!
The path of faith is not a slippery path.
However, our temporal weakness sometimes causes our feet
to be unsure.
In our spiritual lives, our knees are weak and our feet are unstable.
The path is sometimes uneven and rocky.
Our minds do not always guide our feet in the right direction.
Add to that, the fact that there is an enemy that throws things into
Often we must exclaim with the Psalmist,
“My feet were almost gone, my steps had well nigh slipped.”
But Christ’s hand is “able to keep you from falling!”
“He is faithful that promised” us eternal life! (Hebrews 10:23).
PRAISE Jesus for His unchanging and Almighty hand!
There’s an old hymn, written by John Newton, named:
WHY SHOULD I FEAR THE DARKEST HOUR.
Part of that song goes like this:
”I know not what may soon betide
or how my wants shall be supplied;
but Jesus knows and will provide.
Though sin would fill me with distress,
the throne of grace I dare address,
for Jesus is my righteousness.
Though faint my prayers and cold my love,
my steadfast hope shall not remove
while Jesus intercedes above.
Against me earth and hell combine;
but on my side is power divine;
Jesus is all and he is mine. “
Always strive to maintain your connection to Him through
daily prayer and Bible study!
