THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

It is written in history, by one of the earliest Christian church leaders that:

"He who denies the trinity of God is in danger of losing his salvation;
and he that tries to explain the trinity of God is in danger of losing his mind!"

Eph 1:17-23
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Focus, my friends, upon verse 19.
What IS the "exceeding greatness of His power to usward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power?"

It is the same power of God shown in the creation.
His Spirit "moved," His will determined, His Word spoke, and all that IS became something out of nothing.
In six literal "days" God formed the universe and all that is in it.

It is the same power of God shown in the incarnation.
His will was given, His Spirit moved, and "the Word was made flesh.." (John 1:14)
A virgin conceived and God became a man in order to pay our sin debt.

It is the same power of God shown in the resurrection.
His will determined, His Spirit moved, and the Word which had became flesh AROSE!
Death could not hold Him. The guards by the tomb could not keep Him!
At His decision, and in His perfect time, the grave opened up and gave birth on that first Easter morning to Him Who is Light and Life!

Those three examples are enough to exemplify "..the exceeding greatness of His power!"
And the Scripture says this same power works in believers!

His power is enough to give you LIFE from your own deadness.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..." (1 Peter 1:3)

His power is enough to CREATE a new you!
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor 5:17)
Upon your surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord, He began to work in you from the inside out; and continues to work in you by His power!

His power is enough to KEEP you for ever.
"...He is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." (2 Tim 1:12)
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:..." (Phil 1:6).

God has given you, believer, the "wisdom and revelation" of this exceeding great power!

It is only left to you to open yourself to the working of it!
Kneel in submissive prayer this day.
And ask God to work the "exceeding greatness of His power" in you!

Love ya!
