At a rather large church, here in Louisiana, there is a "Marriage Seminar" each year. The ladies meet in one place, and the men in another.

The pastor was looking for some inspiring stories from the men.
He found Bill, who said he was soon to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary!

So, the pastor asked Bill for a short testimony.
Bill stood and spoke to all the men.
"Well, I've always treated my wife with respect. I spend money on her, and what she wants I try to get. For instance, on our 25th anniversary, she wanted to visit her hometown in North Dakota, and I took her there."

The pastor said, "Bill, you are an INSPIRATION!! Tell us what you have planned for your 50th wedding anniversary."

Bill stood up again, and said, "Well, I'm going back to North Dakota and get her."

Eph 5:25-30
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Husbands, LOVE your wives!
Love them as you love yourself, for they are PART of you!
Love them like Jesus loved the church, willing to DIE for her!
THAT kind of love sanctifies and cleanses the wife; and,
presents her to the husband "without blemish!"

Now, every husband wants the wife to "submit" herself to him (Eph. 5:22).
But how many are willing to "pay the price?"

Jesus was willing to "pay the price" for His "Bride" - the church.
And, men, we are to LOVE our wives like Jesus loved the church!

We'd have a lot FEWER divorces, if men would love their wives like THAT!

Loving your wife in that manner, makes ya look PAST her drooping eyes, freckles, and unkempt hair in the morning and see that beautiful bride you married.

Loving your wife like that, keeps you from treating her as MERCHANDISE, and more like the valuable RUBY God calls her!

And, finally, if ya DON'T love your wife in that manner.....
don't expect to be the AUTHORITY in your family!

Love ya,
