Phil 4:6
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall
keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

LIGHT from the WORD.

Tomorrow is the national holiday called THANKSGIVING.

On Sept. 16, 1620 a group of Christian Separatists broke with the
Church of Englad and sailed to this continent on the ship Mayflower.
Before they arrived here, they came together on the ship and wrote
"The Mayflower Compact."
This compact established the fact that they, together, would organize a
colony based on Biblical principles!
The document they signed stated, "...for the glory of God and the
advancement of the Christian faith."

103 people deboarded that ship.
By the end of the first year, only 52 had survived!

But after the harvest time, the governor, William Bradford, called for
That custom prevailed in America until Pres. Abraham Lincoln declared
it a national holiday during the Civil War.

When we look around at our nation today, we become
“careful”, or anxious.
News reports are full of sad things and we’re filled with concern.

But, when we look up and give thanks for what we have,
the anxiety dissipates!

Be thankful for JESUS!
He lifted us from the slavery of sin and gave us LIFE!
He constantly lifts us from adversity and affliction (Is. 30:20)!

I’m thankful for FAMILY!
Fifty-seven years of our marriage has truly been blessed of God!
He has given us 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren!

I'm thankful for the BIBLE!
God’s Word constantly gives us basic principles for living; (See Is. 30:21)
And, the Bible gives us a secured hope of eternal life! (See John 3:16)

Tomorrow, especially; but also EVERY day pause to THANK GOD!

In doing so, you will find the anxieties of the world lessen and
the joy of salvation in Christ permeate your life!

Love ya!
