In the same chapter where God attributes creation
to the Son, Heb 1 ( -- see John 1 for another instance),
He also says the "Lord" (Jesus) will FOLD UP the
heavens as a "vesture."

Heb 1:10-12
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation
of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax
old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall
be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

LIGHT from the WORD.

Peter says (1Pet. 3:10) "...the heavens shall pass away
with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat, the earth also..."

This world, and this universe is not meant to remain.
Most scientists will tell you that stars actually burn out.
This causes gravitational forces to be changed.
And, one day, this ole universe is gonna EXPIRE!

Jesus will cause it to be so.

Heaven (in the Greek) indeed is a word for sky or universe.
But heaven is also a place ELEVATED.

Sometimes that elevation refers to a place BEYOND the
natural universe.
For instance:
*Jesus calls heaven "God's throne."(See Matt. 5:34)
*He also said it is God's RESIDENCE. (See Matt. 5:45)

There is a THIRD heaven. (See 1Cor. 12:2)
It is sometimes referred to as paradise...or,
a restored Eden. (See Rev. 2:7)
(And, yes, I believe Revelation is written as metaphorical
and figurative and not as an allegory.)

In this life, on earth, a person who has surrendered to Christ
actually does live in "the kingdom of God" on earth.

However, when God folds up the universe,
and time will be no more, the saved will live in the ETERNAL
Kingdom of God -- in that 3rd heaven!

It's a place Jesus is preparing for all those who
surrender to Him as Lord. (See John 14:1-3)

It sure beats the alternative, where the "worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched."
(Mk 9:44)

Heaven -- the place BEYOND the known universe;
the place where Jesus is the light, and there is no night!

Are you prepared to go there?

Love ya!
