Two little boys, John and Jim entered the first grade.
John was tall and thin. Jim was short and squatty.
John was redheaded; Jim was blackheaded.

The teacher was having a "stand up and tell us your name time."
When it became John's turn, he stood up and said,
"My name is John, this is my brother Jim. One of us is adopted.
But we can't remember which one."

Gal 4:4-5
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth
his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive
the adoption of sons.

LIGHT from the WORD.

Now that's a great testimony to brotherhood when two boys don't
remember which is adopted!

When a person is "born again," by grace through faith in
Christ, he IS an adopted "son of God." (John 1:12)

Today, in the flesh, the "born again" Christian is still wearing robes
of flesh that are somewhat dirty with sin.
(Keep in mind, they should not be FILTHY with sin!)

We do still carry the innate characteristics of Adam.
But one day, that Christian will wear robes of glory given to
him/her by Christ Himself.

We do not yet appear as "we shall be;" but today we should
appear to be similar to our Lord!

And the Christian has this assurance:
"but we KNOW that, when HE shall appear, we shall be LIKE Him!"
(See 1John 3:2)

We have the "adoption of sons!"

Lord, help me this day to live in the knowledge of my shame to
keep me humble;
and to live in the knowledge of full adoption that I may be
bold for Your glory!

Love ya!
