THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
HI!
One morning, about 2am, I awakened with cramps in both legs.
Not those little inconvenient cramps that come and go.
These were what ball players call charley-horses: big, fist-size!
I got quietly up to go into the living room and put some Aspercreme
on my legs, trying to not wake Ann.
But I stumbled, and tripped over something that I just knew wasn't
there last night.
Ann quietly spoke from the bed, "Turn on the light honey."

14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the

15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way
of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them
which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Yesterday I spoke of God's gift of LOVE to the world.
Today I speak of God's gift of LIGHT to the world.
In the Scripture above, Matthew quotes from Isaiah 9:1-2.
At that time the world was in "darkness" due to the sins of man.
Spiritually, governments were corrupt.
Instead of caring for the people, they took advantage of them.
Today, it's about the same.
But Isaiah's words spoke HOPE!
The people would see a "great light."
They could not turn ON the light; but
they could turn TO the light!
Jesus is that Light! 
He was born into the spiritual darkness of man's sin.
He died to pay for man's sin, and He arose with justification
in His person.
"In Him was LIFE; and the life was the LIGHT of men!"
We cannot turn ON that Light.
But we can turn TO that Light!
CHRISTmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
Celebrate the fact that true LIGHT has come into the world.
And, instead of stumbling in the spiritual darkness,
TURN TO the LIGHT!
