THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The dentist was really feeling depression today.
But he kept on working.
Guess one could say, "He was really down in the mouth!"
The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
A man had fallen off a pier into the ocean.
The waves were throwing him around.
Another man saw him and said, "What can I do? How can I help you?"
The man in the ocean said, "Give me something to HOLD ONTO!"
When a person is "wounded in his spirit," he needs someone to help him.
He needs someone to share the load.
Jesus is that Someone!
Life is difficult at times.
Despondency and dejection are wounds to the spirit.
Wounded spirits cannot help themselves.
Life can be cruel and deal us devastating blows. We need something we can HOLD ONTO!
The Christian has Christ to hold onto.
We have a different spirit within - God's Holy Spirit.
He is the Spirit of hope, love, joy, peace, comfort and strength - and so much MORE!
All too often, Christians fail to realize this important truth.
When we are "down," we need to stop trying to correct the problem ourselves.
We need to go to God in prayer and ask for HELP!
With God, help is IMMEDIATE!
He answers with an amazing encouragement from His Spirit within us.
When you are down on your knees, you are in the best position for HELP!
