When our children were young, we didn't have a lot of money to spend.
I was going to college (a lot) and only working part-time when our second child came along.

That meant the youngest needed the baby bed, and our oldest needed a new bed.

So, I improvised.
We had a couple of mattresses.
And, I built a bed with plywood and 2"X4"s.

I'm just an "imitation" carpenter, so it wasn't too pretty.

However, it was sturdy.
And, when we covered it with sheets and blankets,
it looked pretty good.

Prov 4:20-23
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Confidence, for a Christian, comes by learning and obeying the Word of God.

The REAL LIFE that God offers is based on His WORD, not our abilities!

Applying God's Word to the "heart" (as in verse 21 above), means to learn what God says,
and make decisions according to His instructions.

That takes the focus off what MAN can do, and puts the focus upon what GOD can do.

And, that's the way to "Keep thy heart with all diligence..."
You see, the mind only THINKS: retains memory, filters through regulations.
But, the "heart" is where we make our DECISIONS!

All of creation is founded upon God's WORD!
Eternal salvation is founded upon God's WORD!
Eternity itself is founded upon God's WORD!

REAL LIFE is found in learning God's Word and APPLYING it to our decisions!

So, what about it?
Are you living on an imitation life?
Just covering it with stuff to make it look good?
Are you living REAL LIFE, or just an IMITATION?

Love ya!
