DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"INTEND To RETAIN And ACT"

Bill and his Sue were visiting with Tom and Jane.
Jane stated she and Tom had been to marriage
counseling.

Sue said, Oh, we’ll never need that!
Bill graduated college in business communication,
and I graduated in fine arts.
So when he talks, I ACT LIKE I’m listening!

Col 2:6
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the
Lord, so walk ye in him:
KJV

_______THOUGHT______________

Paul says having “received Christ Jesus,”
we should “walk” in Him.

Walking implies ACTION!
We are not to hide our Christianity “under a
bushel;”
(Matt. 5:15).
We are to put our faith into ACTION in our
daily lives!

Walking also implies PROGRESS!
Sanctification includes growing to be MORE like
Christ (2Pet. 3:18).

Walking also implies CONTINUING!
Saying we are going to walk a mile does not mean
to stop at 200 feet!
For, in Christ, we “live, and move, and have our
BEING!”
(Acts 17:28)

The term Paul uses above, “walk in Him,” includes a
present perfect verb use.
It means now, and ALWAYS!

Intention is often the beginning of retention.
And, retention is the beginning of self-discipline.

Intend to retain God's Word.
Then, discipline yourself to ACT UPON IT!

Love ya!
