THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Sometimes technical support conversations are comical.
Technical support, "How may I help you?"
"Hi, good afternoon, this is Martha, I can't print. Every time I try, it says 'Can't find printer'. I've even lifted the printer and placed it in front of the monitor, but the computer still says he can't find it.."
Tech, "Is the printer plugged into the computer?"
Martha, "Well, I can't see behind the computer."
Tech, "Pick up your printer and walk backward 5 steps."
Martha, "Ok...I did that."
Tech, "Did the printer come with you without resistance?"
Tech, "Ok. That means the printer is not connected to the computer."
1 John 4:13
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Once we surrender to Jesus as Lord of our lives, we are "connected."
We "dwell" in Christ, and He "dwells" in us!
That connection is never severed.
Christ has "purchased" us, and the "earnest of our inheritance" (down payment) is constant connection to Him!
One day, Christ will bring us into the FULL INHERITANCE and we will enjoy being with Him for all eternity.
Until that day, sometimes we FEEL LIKE the connection is severed at times.
Sometimes, we do not experience His PRESENCE as much as others.
One reason is because of SIN.
When we sin, we UNPLUG ourselves from Christ's presence.
But, in His "instruction book" (the Bible) God gives us a REMEDY for that.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Another reason we might feel the connection is severed, is because we don't read the "instruction book."
God teaches us that we should "study" His Bible.
2 Tim 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
And, "storms" in our lives is one other reason we might feel the connection is severed.
We tend to focus on the storm more than the connection!
Remember, the disciples in the boat when the storm came up on the sea.
They called Jesus, and He CALMED the storm! (Mk. 4:39)
Be sure you EXERCISE your "connection" each day through prayer and Bible study.
