A pastor was accompanying a member to a boxing match.

One of the boxers knelt to pray in his corner before the bell.

Member: "Pastor, will prayer help him?"

Pastor: "If he can box, then it will help."

1 Peter 2:1-3 1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and
hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word,
that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Light from the WORD.

The "If" - "then" statment is very important in computer programming.
IF a certain value is submitted, THEN the computer does a specific thing.
IF that value is NOT submitted, THEN the computer does something ELSE.

The "If" in the Scripture above is also very important.
The "If" presumes there is a possibility and a probablility
that someone reading the Scripture may not have truly "tasted"
that the Lord is "gracious!"

Many have read the Scriptures;
but few have surrendered to the Author!

Without SURRENDER to Christ, one CANNOT live Christianity!
Without being in the GRASP of Christ, one cannot be
sustained by His Holy Spirit, who resides within!

All Christians doubt their salvation once in awhile.
But CONTINUAL doubt is a sign of "IF"!

IF you have not surrendered THEN you will continually doubt.
IF you have surrendered THEN you will have surety!

Simply examine the character of your heart.
*IF you have "malice, and ... guile, and hypocrisies, and envies,
and all evil speakings"

THEN you probably have not surrendered to Jesus.
*IF you don't have a "sincere" desire for the truth of God's Word,
THEN, you probably have not surrendered to Jesus.

The steps of salvation are SIMPLE:
HEAR (or read), BELIEVE, and SURRENDER to Jesus!

THEN you will be able to say with Paul....

IF you have surrendered to Christ, THEN you have SURETY!

Love ya!
