THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Most Christians don't have a problem believing God's Word;
but they have a problem living in belief of God's Word.
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as
in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came
out of Egypt by Moses.
Here the Hebrew writer is partially quoting Psalm 95.
Psalm 95 is actually a call to faithfully trust in God.
The story is told in Numbers 13 about the Hebrews whom God had miraculously saved from Egypt.
After only a few months, they came to the border of the land God had promised them.
Yet, they refused to enter!
They had seen God divide the water and drown the Egyptian army.
Yet, they couldn't believe He could make them conquerors of the new land!
With their unbelief, they "did provoke" God.
And, those who would not enter NEVER entered.
They wandered aimlessly for 40 years until all of them were dead.
They were promised a "rest", but they would not take it!
Many Christians are like this today.
God tells us in the Bible we can have "rest" with Jesus! (Matt. 11:28-30)
He also says we can have "life more abundantly." (John 10:10)
He tells us we can become "more than conquerors." (Rom. 8:37)
Yet many Christians live in fear because of unbelief!
Take God at His Word!
Don't be trapped in a life of fear!
Live in faithful trust!
If you truly believe, live in belief!
