THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Police were called to help restore order at the nursing home.
Some very militant patients were found to be the leaders of the revolt, and were arrested.
They were asked why they had seized control of the parlor and locked the manager in the closet.
"We have a bunch of young whippersnappers running things around here," one of them answered.
Another said, "We don't trust anyone under 65!"
Another asked, "What's the use of living a long life if some fifty-year-old kid is gonna tell ya what to do?"
4 And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah,
Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria,
What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
5 I say, sayest thou, (but they are but vain words) I have counsel
and strength for war: now on whom dost thou trust,
that thou rebellest against me?
Rabshakeh represented the king of Assyria, and had a tremendous army.
But Judah rebelled against his power.
He wanted to know "in whom dost thou trust?"
Today, the world has a tremendous army of evil.
And when we rebel against that power, they can't understand, and want to know "in whom dost thou trust?"
Let us answer that we trust in Him Who created all things, and by Whose power all things exist!
He is the Creator God, Who flung the worlds and stars in space by His WORD!
He is the loving God Who formed man "out of the dust of the ground."
And when man sinned against Him, He devised the plan of redemption whereby He Himself would be the sacrifice for atonement.
He is the Eternal Savior by Whose blood we are justified and by Whose grace we receive the righteousness of God Himself!
He is the Intercessor by Whose mercy and love our prayers are presented faithful before His throne.
He is the final Judge.
And in that last judgment day, He shall be our Advocate to plead our cause and acquit us from all sin.
He is the Eternal Spirit by Whom we are given access to the riches of His wisdom!
He called us to conviction of sin.
He convinced us of our need of a Savior.
He called us to commitment to Him.
He converted us, giving us sanctification by His presence in our souls.
He teaches us through His Holy Word and compels us to be witnesses on His behalf.
We trust HIM!
Who subdues our will with His love,
Who cleanses our sin with His own blood,
Who enlightens our understanding with His wisdom,
Who empowers our daily lives with His presence,
Who comforts us when we are broken,
Who strengthens us in our weakness,
And Who is Light and Life in our darkness.
We trust HIM!
Whose power is never depleted,
Whose love is never exhausted,
Whose character never changes,
Whose faithfulness never ends,
And Whose perfect righteousness can never be reduced.
We trust Jesus Christ, King of kings, Lord of Lords!
And when the world and sin have done their worst, He Himself will complete our journey and give us the BEST!
