My first church was a bivocational position, and I taught business
courses in a high school.
During the summers, I attended college, working on my masters degree.

In one of the advanced psychology courses, the professor had just
finished a lengthy lecture on mental health.
He asked, "What would you call a person who screams at the top of
their lungs one moment, then sits crying uncontrollably the next?"

Without hesitation I said, "A pastor?"

Ps 55:16
As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.

Ps 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee:

Jesus is our Helper and our Sustainer!

Being burdened with anxious care may all too quickly lead to acts of sin!
We must guard against the ole devil using our burdens as excuses
for wrong-doing.

Our Lord teaches us to commit our concerns to Him, and He will
deliver us.
And, when there is a lasting burden, He will "sustain" us.

Anxiety, for the Christian, actually forsakes the "Fatherly" care of
our Lord.
All too often, we depend upon human wisdom rather than
Divine intervention!

Let me interject a couple of other Scriptures which address
surrendering our burdens to our Lord.

Isa 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is
stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Phil 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In times of anxiety,
don't STRESS, instead SURRENDER your burdens to the Lord!

Love ya!
