You might be a pastor, if you get genuinely upset when you
hear someone say:
"Must be nice to have a job where you only work 2 days a week."
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh:
is there any thing too hard for me?
LIGHT from the WORD.
What's the hardest thing you ever tried to do?
Al Lingren, professor at an evangelical seminary, tells a story
about taking his son fishing one day.
His son was then in junior high school.
It was one of those days when the fish didn't bite,
so they had a lot of time to talk.
It seemed like the question came out of left field.
Al's son asked, "Dad, what do you think is the hardest thing
God ever tried to do?"
Al, was momentarily stumped, and just returned a question:
"Well, son, what do YOU think it was?"
His son said, "Dad, you're a preacher. You should know
the hardest thing God ever tried to do. When I was studying
science in school, I thought it was maybe creating the universe.
Then, we were talking in Sunday School about the resurrection,
and I thought maybe that was the hardest thing God ever tried
to do. But then I realized that most people don't really know
God very well. I think the hardest thing God ever tried to do
was get us to understand Who He is, and that He loves us."
No doubt, the hardest thing God ever tried to do was to tell
us Who He is, and make us understand that He loves us.
But NOTHING is "too hard" for God!
He came in the Person of Jesus Christ!
He revealed somewhat of His omniscience when He
stumped the scholars in the temple.
He revealed somewhat of His omnipotence when He
healed lepers, the blind and the lame,
and raised people from death.
And He revealed His LOVE for us when He died on the
cross at Calvary for our sins!
NOTHING is to hard for Him!!
Perhaps the hardest thing YOU ever tried to do is to
BELIEVE, TRUST and COMMIT your life to Him!
It IS difficult to put aside self and surrender your life
to Jesus' eternal loving care!
But you CAN!
It takes COMMITMENT!!
Are YOU committed to Jesus?
