Mom took her son to one of the fast-food restaurants children like so well.
When he was finished eating, he took his tray to the garbage disposal, as he had been taught.
Mom noticed that he studied the lid of the receptacle for quite awhile.

Then he came running back to the table.
In eagerness to show his observation skills, he said, "MOM! I know how to spell 'garbage'! It's 'P U S H!'"

At that time, others were giggling about his mistake.
But Mom knew that later, under her guidance and care, he would learn how to spell garbage.
Right now, he needed something else.

Mom smiled and asked if he knew what L O V E spelled.
He admitted he did not.
She reached and gave him a big hug.
Then she said, "That's what L O V E spells. It's how I FEEL about you!"

She JUSTIFIED his trying by her LOVE.

Rom 5:6-9
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Parents love their children, even when they go off and make foolish mistakes at times.
Parents demonstrate love for their children through caring, kindness, hugs, and especially faithfulness.
And in doing so, parents actually exhibit the love of God for his children.

God "commendeth," or demonstrated His love for you and me.
When we were “dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1-9), God demonstrated his MERCY and GRACE.
He came in the Person of Christ to die for our sins!
God emptied Himself into the perfect person of Christ to make perfect atonement for our sins (Philippians 2:5-11)!

God's love is a GIVING love through which we might obtain a very special BENEFIT (John 3:16).
In giving His life as a ransom for ours, Christ not only demonstrated love, but also what He has "prepared for them that believe" (1Corinthians 2:9).
What God has prepared for us is EVERLASTING LIFE!

Mom, in the little story above, demonstrated to her son that her LOVE was greater and more important than the giggles around him.
She justified his actions through her concern, care and hugs.

When the world snickers at our love for Christ, our Lord tells us we are justified in Him!
For us, who believe in Christ, He justifies our trying by His LOVE!

Love ya!
