THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

There was a great hurricane just off the coast heading toward the town.
The church people gathered to pray.

One deacon prayed,
"Lord, send us the spirit of the Children of Israel.
Lord, send us the spirit of the Children of Abraham.
Lord, send us the spirit of the Children of Moses."

The pastor prayed,
"Lord, don't send anyone, come Yourself! This ain't no time for children!"

Eph 1:10-12
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Jesus Christ is the focal point of all things in heaven and earth.
He is the foundation; the "first-born;" the Sustainer; King of Kings; Lord of Lords; and the One in Whom we have obtained the inheritance of heaven.
Everything in divine revelation is centered in Christ.
God's eternal purpose has always been, and always will be to work all things "after the counsel of His own will."
This is the ground of hope for believers.
When we cannot understand why things happen as they do, we can rely upon the eternal purpose of God.

God has always been and always will be present in His creation.
By His presence, He is moving all things forward to His eternal purpose.
He is importing grace, mercy, and salvation through Christ.
And at the end, all things shall be gathered in Him.

Your mountains of faith are climbed with the presence of Christ.
Your valleys of unbelief are touched by the presence of Christ.
Your middle areas of tribulation, sorrow and fear are covered by the presence of Christ.

He is the "Foundation" and "Cornerstone" of your life.
Every timber, brick - even every nail and tack, in your spiritual house, is "purposed" by His loving care and omniscient concern.
He sees the whole from every corner.
He knows the end from the beginning.

And trusting in Him, brings all believers to be "gathered in One" and remain eternally the "praise of His glory."

Remember this my Christian friend.
When you cannot understand, when you can't fathom His plan,
HOLD TO HIS UNCHANGING HAND!

Love ya,
Bruce
