THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Charlie Brown and Lucy were sitting in the park thinking.
Suddenly, Lucy said, “I don’t understand love!”
Charlie, “Who does?”
Lucy, “Explain love to me Charlie Brown!”
Charlie, “You can’t explain love. I can recommend a book or a poem or a painting, but I can’t explain love.”
Lucy, “Well, try Charlie Brown, try!”
Charlie, “Well, let’s say this beautiful, cute little girl walks by...”
Lucy interrupted, “Why does she have to be cute? Huh? Why can’t someone fall in love with someone with freckles and a big nose?”
Charlie, “Ok. Maybe you’re right. Let’s say I see this girl walk by with a great big nose....”
Lucy interrupted, “I didn’t say GREAT BIG nose!”
Charlie mused for a second, then said, “Well, you not only can’t EXPLAIN love, you can’t even TALK about it!”
1 Cor 8:2-3
2 And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
To KNOW God is to LOVE Him.
To LOVE God, we should KNOW Him more.
We never get old enough that we can’t learn something new about our Lord, and thus,
express our love for Him more.
Our love for God is spoken in our action FOR Him.
Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
We cannot accurately express our love for Christ unless we LEARN what His Word says.
Otherwise, we will be like anyone else,
“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Tim 3:7)
The purpose of studying the Bible is not to show our knowledge, but to show our love for Christ!
The more we KNOW God, the more we LOVE Him.
The more we LOVE God, the more we SHOW Him!
2 Tim 2:15
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
