THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
In order to climb higher on the tree of life, one must pull on the branches,
not on the blossoms.
Remember, there's plenty of room at the top, but no room to sit down!
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
The love of Christ is beyond our comprehension!
Who could "know" such love that God would personally come to pay our sin debt?
Who could "know" such love that God would willingly suffer on the most cruel death instrument ever invented - the cross?
Yet the apostle Paul prays that all Christians might "know" that love!
The word "know" implies feeling, experiencing, being sure of.
In another place (Philippians 3:8-10), Paul wrote:
"Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: .... That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;.."
Indeed, we do EXPERIENCE such unfathomable love when we surrender to Christ as Lord of our lives: when HE becomes ALL to us, and everything else is "loss!"
That love, and that love only, gives us reason for eternal hope!
That love, and that love only, gives us faith that is immeasurable!
If we but "know" HIM, we shall "know" the experiential joy of that love!
And we "know" Christ more through study of His Word.
