THROUGH THE BIBLE COMMENTARY
One day the pilot of a Cherokee 180 was told by the tower to hold
short of the active runway while a DC-8 landed.
The DC-8 landed, rolled out, turned around, and taxied back past the Cherokee.
Some quick-witted comedian in the DC-8 crew got on the radio and said,
"What a cute little plane. Did you make it all by yourself?"
The Cherokee pilot, not about to let the insult go by, came back with a real zinger:
"I made it out of DC-8 parts. Another landing like yours and I'll have
enough parts for another one."
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Our decisions today determine our happiness tomorrow.
God's decision, in eternity past, provided an "end" of happiness for all.
Knowing we all would be sinners, after creation, God devised a plan for our salvation.
He implemented the plan through the Person of Jesus Christ.
Being God in flesh, Jesus lived a perfect life.
Then, He offered that life on the cross as payment from God to God for our sins.
That sacrificial love is still thinking and planning for you today.
God's thoughts toward you are "peace," and "an expected end" of eternal bliss with Him.
Our God is always ready to hear the voices of those pleading for His help.
If we truly seek Him (verse 13), then He will truly be there with us in every hour.
Have you searched for God's "expected end" for your life?
What is it that God wants you to be doing?
Where is it that God wants you to be going?
Seek Him with all your heart, and He will SHOW you.
Remember, your landing is determined by your approach.
