As he was paddling down the Nantahala River in North
Carolina, Joe suddenly found himself in quite a predicament.
A huge wave, off the crest of a rock, sent him hurling,
and he was upside down in his kayak!
Suddenly submerged in the icy, dark water, his muscles tensed,
and his lungs held tightly to what little air he had gasped
before rolling under.
Panic! "I have to get up! I have to breathe!"
In a matter of seconds, he had gone from being
in CONTROL to being in CRISES!
Suddenly, his previous training came back to his mind.
"Don't fight the current. With a gentle twist of the body,
and an upward stroke of the paddle turn the kayak over."
He did. It worked!
By allowing the pull of the current to have control,
he was able to "right the boat."
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Often that experience of having to give in to the strong force
of the river parallels the panic many of us have when,
in the current of life, we have to give up control and
surrender ourselves completely to God.
We have to remember our training!
God LOVES us. He wants the BEST for us.
We may not always understand why the trail winds through
the woods, but we must understand that our Guide
KNOWS where He is going!
FIRST: STUDY The Word!!
SECOND: REMEMBER your training!!
THEN, as you face unexpected "curves" in life,
you will know the Lord guides you!
And, you be more able to TRUST Him!
LEARN, REMEMBER, and
TRUST YOUR TRAINING!
