THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
My wife handed me the pickle jar.
She asked, "Will you open this for me? I can't."
Pretending to strain, I twisted on the ring.
It popped open immediately.
The reason: she had almost gotten it open herself!
Sometimes, life is a labor of love rather than strength.
1 Cor 13:1
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
but do not have love,
I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Take note that the word "charity" is used in the KJV.
That word translates the Greek agape which means LOVE.
I have used the NASB for this reason.
It translates agape as love.
Some of the people in the church at Corinth were able to speak
in other languages. (See 1Cor. 14:18-19)
But Paul says even if one were able to speak in ALL languages,
and did not have love, it would be just NOISE!
Angels certainly have a language that is superior to mankind.
And, Paul said in (See 2Cor. 12:2-4) that he had the privilege
of hearing words unspeakable in the third heaven.
But even if one were able to speak in that far superior
language (on this earth), it would still only be NOISE!
The word agape or love, here repesents genuine care for others,
and giving without thought of return.
THIS is the language to speak!
It is from the HEART more than through the mouth!
