THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When God spoke to Moses on the backside of the desert near Mt. Horeb,
Moses hid his face and took off his shoes.

When God said He would free all the Israelites from slavery,
Moses began to shout!

When God said He would send Moses to effect their freedom,
the shouting STOPPED!

When a person surrenders to Christ, the first result is receiving “power!”
That power is when “the Holy Ghost is come upon you!” (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38, Ephesians 1:13)
The result of that power is “ye SHALL BE witnesses” to Christ – EVERYWHERE!

To EVERY Christian, God always says, “Go YE!” (Matthew 28:18-20)
“Go ye” and “teach” – teach people how to be saved.
“Go ye” and “baptize” – baptize those that surrender to Christ as a witness to their changed lives.
“Go ye” and “teach” more – teach HOW to live as Christ’s servants.

Being saved is a gift from God, through the blood of Christ, wrapped in the presence of God’s Holy Spirit.
That salvation comes by surrender to Christ’s will, freeing a person from the slavery of sin (Romans 8:1-2).

That salvation comes with a directive:
We are not to live necessarily as pleasing to mankind, but “as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;..” (Ephesians 6:6)

A man came into the church, got all excited, and began to shout.
A deacon went over and whispered in his ear.
Suddenly the man sat down, and became quiet.
Later, the pastor asked the deacon what did he whisper.
He said, “I told him if he were excited about being saved, he should go and excitedly tell his neighbors, friends, family and co-workers.”

There’s an old song: We’ve Got The Power.
The chorus goes like this:
“WE'VE GOT THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS
WE'VE GOT THE POWER IN HE NAME OF THE LORD
THO SATAN RAGES WE CANNOT BE DEFEATED
WE'VE GOT THE POWER IN THE NAME OF THE LORD”!

C’mon now, do I hear some SHOUTING?
Go shout it EVERYWHERE!

Love ya!
