THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

I guess, as we get older, our thoughts change.

Carl & Abe were getting older.
When they got together for lunch, they always talked about baseball.
But now that they were older, they began to worry about dying,
and whether there was baseball in heaven.

They agreed that whoever died first would come back and tell the
other if there was baseball in heaven.

A few years went by and one night Abe died in his sleep.
The next night Carl heard a voice, “CARL!”
He answered, “Abe, is that really you?”

Abe answered, “Yes, it’s me.”

Carl said, “Well tell me, is there baseball in heaven?”

Abe said, “Well I have good news and bad news.
Yes. There IS baseball in heaven.”

Carl said, “That is good news! So what’s the bad news?”

Abe said, “You’re pitching tomorrow!”

Luke 4:18-19 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to
preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
KJV

Rom 8:1-2
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from
the law of sin and death.

Like Carl & Abe, Ya never know when it will be YOUR “turn”!
So, the best we can do is BE READY!

Jesus said He came to "set at LIBERTY them that are bruised."

LIBERTY is the absence of living under coercion or constraint.
It is the fact of being released from restriction.
REAL liberty is being released from the power of sin which coerces
and restrains.
ONLY Jesus gives that LIBERTY!!!

Notice Rom. 8:2 above states Christians are free
"from the law of sin and death."
That simply means, as Paul states in verse 1 above, there is
"NO CONDEMNATION!"

Notice also, that the freedom is granted conditionally.
It is only for those who "walk...after the Spirit."
That Spirit is the Spirit of LIFE in Christ!

The person "in Christ" is free from eternal condemnation
for he/she has received eternal salvation!

Our forefathers declared FREEDOM when they declared independence
from the restraint of the government, king, and defined worship.

In order to MAINTAIN liberty, we must LIVE as
“free spirits” in the Lord!!

First, we must be CLOSE to the Lord, through prayer and Bible study.
Second, we must have CONNECTION with the world.
And third, we must USE our connection to TELL the world of our LORD!

THIS will not be maintained

Until THIS is maintained.

Love ya!
