Today's Devotion:
"LIGHT REVEALS"
I do not pretend to be the best husband
or the greatest expert on marriage
But not so long ago my wife said I was a
model husband.
I thought that was a compliment until I looked in
the dictionary and discovered that a model is a
small imitation of the real thing!
_______SCRIPTURE____________
John 1:6-8
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name
was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness
of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear
witness of that Light.
_______THOUGHT______________
John the Baptist was a model.
He was a small imitation of the REAL THING.
John was commissioned by God to "prepare the
way" for the coming Messiah.
Malachi was the last prophet of the Old Testament.
He said in Malachi 3:1, "Behold, I will send my
messenger, and he shall prepare the way before
me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly
come to His temple, even the Messenger of the
covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, HE shall
come, saith the LORD of hosts."
Notice in the previous verse, the messenger will
prepare the way for "ME...the LORD."
John was a model, an immitation of the REAL
THING.
He REVEALED the fact that Messiah was
coming into the world.
Jesus is the "Light" through Whom "all men might
BELIEVE" and be saved.
Christian, like John the Baptist, you are a MODEL.
Be a small light that reveals Jesus in your life!
