"LISTENING with REVERENCE"
Effective communication requires
the sharing of information in an
understandable manner from a
sender to a receiver.
For instance, my communication
with dad, when we would drive
passed the paper mill....
As a kid, I would say,
"That STINKS!"
Dad, a life insurance
salesman, would say,
"It smells like money to me!"
________SCRIPTURE________
Prov. 1:1-4
1 The proverbs of Solomon the son
of David, king of Israel;
2 To know wisdom and instruction;
to perceive the words of understanding;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom,
justice, and judgment, and equity;
4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the
young man knowledge and discretion.

Such things as "justice" and "judgment"
are often clouded by personal prejudicial
thinking and social pressure.
But true wisdom is a gift from God to
those who are willing to STUDY and
PURSUE what God says through His
Bible.
Proverbs is written so that information
can be gathered with which one can
make correct decisions.
The mind is an excellent computer
and can store volumes of information.
That's KNOWLEDGE.
Wisdom is USING the knowledge
to make correct decisions!
Prov. 1:7 and Prov. 9:10 BOTH say,
"The FEAR of the LORD is the
BEGINNING of" knowledge and
wisdom.
In order to comprehend what a
professor is teaching to the class,
a student must LISTEN with
REVERENCE!
The word "fear" in Prov. 1:7, and
Prov. 9:10 is the Hebrew word which
means to have awesome reverence
for the Speaker - God!
Studying the Bible, it is important
to BELIEVE God IS, AND that He
desires to COMMUNICATE to us
such things as "wisdom, justice,
and judgment and equity."
If we study the Bible with reverence
for God, THEN He will TEACH!
Jesus said, in John 14:26,
"But the Comforter, which is the
Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
f
send in my name, he shall teach
you all things, and bring all things
to your remembrance, whatsoever
I have said unto you."
So, the question is: Are we
LISTENING with REVERENCE?
