Today's Devotion:
"LIVELY STONES"
Contrasted to inanimate (dead) stones,
Christians are "lively stones," because
they are spiritually alive and active IN
CHRIST.
And, they are used by God to form a
living temple of worship.
_______SCRIPTURE____________
1Pet. 2:4-5
4 To Whom coming, as unto a living
stone, disallowed of men, but chosen of
God, a precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up
a spiritual house, and holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

_______THOUGHT______________
My grandmother, "Ma Johnson," was 88 years
old.
Ann and I took our 3-year-old son and
1-year-old daughter to see her.
"Ma" lived in a house on a stream, in North
Carolina, close to where I was born.
We wanted to go fishing, and I particularly
remembered a waterfall which was upstream
from Ma's place.
Ma wanted to take us there, so our parade
started upstream: Ma, me, Ann and our 2
children.
I was carrying all the fishing gear, and Ma
was leading the way; Ann and our 2 children
were following.
At 88, Ma was literally skipping from rock
to rock, going uphill!
I was concerned she might fall, so I was
kinda looking after her.
After about 1/2 mile, I saw Ann waving for
me to come back.
She said, "Look, Ma is doing really well, so
you take Bobby with you, I can't handle
BOTH of these children by myself!"
Ma, Ruth Johnson, all 4ft. 9in. of her, was
indeed a "LIVELY STONE!"
She was a lively stone because DAILY she
kept coming to the LIVING STONE, Jesus
through Bible study and prayer!
At 100+ years of age, on Easter morning, she
left this earth and rose right up to our LIVING
STONE - JESUS!
Be a lively stone, BY daily coming to the
LIVING STONE - Jesus!
Love ya!
