THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
How do porcupines hug?
VERY carefully !!
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Recently, my friend Pat Lofton gave an illustration about that word “circumspectly.”
He said, “If a tom cat were walking on a clothesline, and two big bull dogs were below,
he would walk very “circumspectly”!
The Greek word from which circumspectly is translated is akribos.
It means: carefully, or diligently.
Paul was describing how Christians should live daily in the world.
We should consider our actions and words carefully.
It is our privilege to present Christ to the world.
Therefore, we should present ourselves as ambassadors from our Lord.
We should also be “redeeming the time.”
In every situation let us look for an opportunity to tell about Jesus.
As Christians, we have the wonderful joy of KNOWING that:
our sins are forgiven,
our Lord’s Word is true,
and, our destination is His perfect heaven!
LIVE in the JOY!
And live “circumspectly” – “redeeming the time” !!
