THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so that when you die, you're smiling and everyone around you is crying.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great
God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
On the cross, God paid God the price of our redemption.
When we are saved we are granted the inheritance of being free from all iniquity.
And, the "earnest" (Eph. 1:14) of that inheritance is being "sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." (Eph. 1:13)
We are not yet totally free from iniquity.
It often "pops up" on our screen of life.
However, the "earnest of our inheritance" (Eph. 1:14) is ALWAYS with us!
And, He urges us to live "denying ungodliness and worldly lusts."
He urges us to live "soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world."
Christ HAS accomplished our total redemption.
Christ HAS accomplished "purify(ing) unto Himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works."
Now, it is up to Christians to live heeding and obeying the urging of His Holy Spirit.
If you are living "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of
the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;"
then, you'll be smiling when He comes to receive you!
