THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

For a couple years I've been blaming it on iron poor blood, lack of vitamins, dieting and a dozen other maladies. Now I found out the real reason. I'm tired because I'm overworked.

The population of this country is 237 million. 104 million are retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school, which leave 48 million to do the work.

Of this, there are 29 million employed by the federal government.

This leaves 19 million to do the work.

Four million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 15 million to do the work.

Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Government and that leaves 200,000 to do the work.

There are 188,000 in hospitals, so that leaves 12,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 11,998 people in Prisons. That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me . . .
and you're sitting there reading jokes!

2 Cor 4:17-18
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

THOUGHT____________________________________

If our focus is on this world, we get TIRED just thinking about it!

We are born from a nice, safe, warm place into a rude awakening!
We are (most anyway) reared in a nice, quiet home, and sent to a rude school!
We complete school and are met with the reality of work!
While working, we pay local, State, and Federal taxes!
Upon retirement, most of us are too old to do the things we dreamed about!
Then, our end is a 6 foot hole in the ground!

Those things are temporary, and they bring our hearts “affliction.”

What a difficult thing to live in the world of affliction.
But, what a joy it becomes when we are “born again!”

Because when we look BEYOND this world to the “eternal,” there’s a different view!

When we surrender to Christ we are “born again” into a glorious awakening!
Our new focus is on “things which are NOT seen!”
Yes, we are born again to grow – and be schooled.
But, our joy is to learn from God’s Word the principles of truth that are “eternal”!
And this focus works “for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory!”
For we now see heaven as our glorious end!

What a wonderful day when we pass from this world!
We’ll be in a place where there’s no more school, taxes, or fear of death!

LIVE in this temporary world.
FOCUS on things not seen which are eternal!

Love ya!
