THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Mom asked, "Johnny, have you been into the cookies again?"
Mom, "Because I see crumbs on the floor."
Johnny, "I didn't put them there."
Mom, "Johnny, don't you know that God sees you when you steal the cookies?"
Johnny, "He didn't see me! I hid under the table!"
Mom, "Johnny, God sees right through the table. He sees everything you do!"
Johnny, "OH! NO! Did He see me drink out of the milk carton too?"
13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Yes. God sees everything we do!
He looks to "behold" what we are doing, and He "considereth" all that we do.
Now is that thought provoking; is it shameful; or downright scary?
Perhaps all of the above!
However, nothing in speech presents a more gracious and loving God than this passage of Scripture!
Imagine! God SEES all that we do, but He still stoops in grace to meet our need for salvation.
AND, He still bends His heart of mercy to meet our needs daily.
The Bible says that God knows "the very hairs of your head" (Matt. 10:30).
Yet, He lovingly "directs" our steps (Prov. 16:9)
AND, "He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints." (Prov 2:8)
Isn't it amazing how much God KNOWS about us, yet He is kind enough to CARE about us!
Infinite distance separates our unrighteousness from His righteousness.
But God connects us through His love and grace.
Your whispered prayer finds immediate attention at His ear because He is looking down, beholding and considering!
Surely, we who would eternally die in our sin, cannot help but praise Him Who offers forgiveness and reconciliation!
Surely, we who are inept in all our ways, cannot help but praise Him Who sees our needs and provides graciously!
Today, pause to thank God for looking down,
for beholding you in sin,
and considering you in His awesome grace!
