THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
When we all stand before the judgment seat of Christ (and we must--Romans 14:10),
ALL men shall call Jesus LORD! (Philippians 2:11)
What does that name "Lord" mean to YOU TODAY?
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
There are two definitions of the word Lord.
The first is a generic or systemic definition....where one speaking of God, would say,
"He is Lord over all that is."
The second definition is a specific or personal one ...where one speaking of God would say,
"He is Lord over all that I am!"
When a person genuinely surrenders to Christ, a change of view takes place. (2Cor. 5:17)
We no longer view the world as how it relates to ME.
We view the world as how it relates to JESUS.
And, we become ambassadors of Christ for the purpose of bringing the world around us to know Him. (2Cor. 5:18-20)
Christianity is not a function OF society.
Christianity is a function of God TO society!
Gasoline works in an engine to cause combustion and produce power.
That power is to work for the design of the machine.
God's Holy Spirit works in Christians to produce power.
That power is to work according to God's design for the purpose of leading the world to know Jesus!
Phil 2:13 says,
"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
If Jesus is truly LORD of your life, your life will reflect His power working in you!
Which is your definition of Jesus, systemic or specific?
