DAILY DEVOTION

HI!

Two friends meet in the street.
One looked forlorn and almost on the verge of tears.

The other man said, "Hey, how come you look like the
whole world caved in?"
The sad fellow said, "Let me tell you. Three weeks ago,
an uncle died and left me forty thousand dollars."

"That's not bad."

"Hold on, I'm just getting started. Two weeks ago, a cousin
I never knew kicked the bucket and left me eighty-five
thousand free and clear."

"I'd like that."

"Last week my grandfather passed away. I inherited almost
a quarter of a million."

"Then how come you look so glum?"

"This week - nothing!"

SCRIPTURE______________________________

Eph 1:11-12
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance,
being predestinated according to the purpose of Him
Who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory,
who first trusted in Christ.

THOUGHT________________________________

LIGHT from the WORD.

Yesterday, I wrote about the second coming of Christ.
The benefits of KNOWING Christ include eternal life
at the time of His return, for those who have surrendered
to Him as Lord.

But the first coming of Christ provides every Christian
with the realization of that everlasting life TODAY!

The word "have" in John 3:16 is a verb.
It is translated from the Greek echo, and it means
to have, to hold, to possess.

Those who have surrendered to Jesus as Lord HAVE
"everlasting life" TODAY!!

Think of it:
The redeemed are purchased with HIS blood;
The saved are justified by HIS righteousness;
Being sanctified is because of HIS presence;
And, we are complete ONLY in HIM!

The most wonderful thing is "..we HAVE OBTAINED"
this inheritance through Christ!
It IS received by those who have surrendered to Him!
"All things are yours" for "Ye are Christ's;
and Christ is God's."
(See 1Cor. 3:21-23)
You have entrance to God's throne through prayer in HIS
Name! (See John 14:13)
You are "sealed" unto full redemption by trust in
HIS Name! (See Eph. 1:13)
You are confident of full completion of salvation in HIS Name!
(See Ppns. 1:6)

Jesus IS returning, and I believe SOON!

The JOY is:
You can LIVE for Him NOW,
And SEE Him THEN!

Love ya!
