A missionary settled into his work in the field with a new jeep.
After about 1 and 1/2 years the jeep ceased to start.
He was not mechanically minded.
So, he either walked or rented a rickshaw.

Two years rolled by, and it was time for him to take leave.
A journeyman came to take his place for a year.

The journeyman asked why he didn’t use the jeep.
The missionary said, “It won’t start.”

The journeyman opened the hood, and in about 5 minutes had the jeep started.

The missionary said, “What did you do?”

The journeyman said, “Well, the battery cable was loose. You had lost connection to the power source.

Col 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

The old song says,
”Prayer is the key to heaven
but faith unlocks the door.
Words are so easily spoken,
But prayer without faith
Is like a boat without an oar.”

(Samuel T. Scott, 1955)

Prayer is the key to living in faith!

Without prayer, we lose connection to the Power Source!

Genuine faith causes us to realize what Jesus said,
“...without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Ann and I love kayaking.
And, I can tell you that going down a rough river without an “oar”

The Christian life can be likened to kayaking down a rough river.
You sure don’t want to be without the “oar” of PRAYER!
THAT’S your connection to God’s power!

When you hit rough spots in your life – PRAY!
When your life is calm – PRAY MORE EARNESTLY!!

The devil loves to interject into your calm times that YOU are in control.
Remember, you can do NOTHING of value to God without Christ!

Pray daily.
Keep an attitude of prayer all day.

Don’t lose connection to your Power Source!

Love ya!
