"Love OF God and TO God"
Billy gave Briana his class ring.
She gave him a picture of herself.
The next day, Billy too the picture to
the photo shop.
He asked if the photographer would
copy it.
The photographer told him yes.
After Billy left, the photographer looked
at the back of the picture.
There was an inscription.
"Billy, I love you more than all the world!"
P.S. "If we ever break up, I want my
picture back."

1John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things
that are in the world. If any man love the
world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of
the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of
the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the
lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of
God abideth for ever.

The word love is used in our English
language with many different meanings.
It was also true in the Greek language.
Love, agapao, in the Greek defined a
social or moral sense.
Love, agape, in the Grek defined a
love of affection which is given without
thought of return.
I love golf. That's a social sense.
I love my wife. That's an affection sense,
combined with commitment.
In fact, in 1Cor. 13:1, the word charity
is derived from the Greek agape.
It means giving without thought of return!
In that sense, agape, means to give out
of self.
Now, note the last phrase in verse 17.
"but he that doeth the will of God abideth
FOREVER!"
THAT is real love FROM God.
It's a DOING love!
He paid for our sins in His own body!
And, THAT expresses our love FOR God.
We GIVE ourselves to Him, and He
becomes the FOCUS of our LIFE!
