THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Mere longing for a better world can be a lazy person's way to face life.

There's a story about a farmer who said that lightning struck an old shed and saved him the trouble of tearing it down.
The rain washed off his car and saved him that trouble too.

Someone asked him what he was doing now.
He said he was waiting for an earthquake to shake the potatoes out of the ground.

Prov 12:26-28
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
(KJV)

The "way," or road, of righteousness is to follow the will of God in making decisions (verse 25).
To NOT follow God's will in our decision-making is to allow the world to "seduce" us.

Righteousness is reflected in the care one has toward what he has received from God (verse 26).
A person reflects his right relationship with God when he is careful to MAINTAIN that which is given to him.

As Christians, we should be careful to maintain our personal relationship with God.
We do that through prayer, Bible study, fellowship with other Christians, attendance to and service in church, and witnessing to others about Christ.

Again, to NOT follow God's will is to allow the world to seduce us!

Living in righteousness, through surrender to Christ and His express will in the Bible, is the way of REAL LIFE (verse 28).

We can make life better.
Let us strive to maintain our personal relationship with our Lord, and we'll know the value of His "abundant life."

Love ya,
Bruce
